After the success of the event we catered for last year for Bentley's Entertainment we were very excited to get the call asking us whether we would be prepared to do a spit roast for an event in a castle setting in Ireland.

After further discussions with Peregrine Armstrong Jones the requirements for the party changed to a more formal dinner to be served butler style to reflect the service as it might be in a castle setting.

As the Castle is the hub of the town it was also important that, wherever possible, we used local suppliers for the food, drinks and staff. We were able to do this thanks to the enormous amount of help we received from Alex at Bentley's, all the local suppliers and especially the head butler.

On the night, 257 guests were greeted with a drinks reception in the Castle and then seated in a spectacular marquee at long tables each seating over 60 guests. To replicate the style of service we took 9 staff from Touch of Taste, employed 120 Irish staff and had help from the head butler and 8 of his staff. We served a table of 60 at a time. The food for each guest was placed simultaneously and accompaniments and vegetables were then offered butler style.

When guests returned to the castle after dinner, the entrance hall and drawing rooms in the castle had been transformed by Bentley's into a night club disco, a cocktail and Guinness bar and a smoking room with digestif bar.
